Kiama SLSC – Image Use & Media Opt-Out

The Kiama Surf Life Saving Club recognises that not all members wish to have their image, or that of their family who are members, published on the club’s social media outlets. By “Opting Out”, you can register your contact details so that media from club events is made available for your private review prior to public release.

How the Opt-Out Review Process Works

1. Registration: Complete the Opt-Out form below with your full name, email address, and optional phone number. Submitting this form registers you to our secure notification list for the current season.
2. Weekly Review Notification: Following club events (such as Sunday Nippers, carnivals, or socials), the Social Media Manager will upload event media to a secure Google Drive folder accessible only to registered opt-out members and authorized club officers. You will receive an automated email notification when new media is live.
3. 2-Hour Review Window: Members on the list have a 2-hour window from the time of notification to view the folder. If you identify an image or video depicting yourself or a family member that you do not want published, reply directly to the notification email quoting the exact File Name / Image ID.
4. Permanent Removal: The Social Media Manager will permanently delete the nominated media files from the folder and all official club storage prior to publishing any remaining content to social media.
5. Annual Renewal (June 30): Per club policy, all contact details are automatically purged from the list on 30th June each year. Members must opt back in at the start of each new season upon renewing membership.
