Access Control
Areas
The following areas are currently secured by the fob system:
- Club house.
- IRB boat shed (pending installation).
Under evaluation
These areas are currently not secured by the fob system but are being evaluated by the executive. Any mention of them throughout the document is for planning purposes only.
- First-aid room.
- Boat garage (beach door).
Roles
For the purposes of access control, certain roles are defined in the security system. Each role can be granted access to specific areas.
General member
Any member of the club. Every fob user is assigned this role at a minimum.
Patrol captain
A club member who has an up-to-date patrol captain award.
Patrol member
A club member who has patrolled at least 46 hours in the last season.
Cadet
A club member under 18yo who has an up-to-date SRC, and has patrolled at least 10 hours in the last season.
Cadets must electronically sign the cadet key fob activation agreement.

Key Fob Assignment
Any current club member is entitled to a key fob, unless explicitly disallowed by the Executive.
General Information
Key Fobs have a unique identification number printed on them. These identifiers can be assigned to a person, which is registered on the security system. Multiple fobs can be assigned to the same member.
Fobs are non-transferable and remain the property of Kiama SLSC. As such, fobs are not to be loaned and must be returned when the person is no longer a member of the club.
All members must observe the Club House Rules.
Requesting a fob
By requesting a fob, the member agrees to abide by the Club House rules.
To request a fob:
- Send an email to fob@kiamaslsc.com.au requesting a fob. In your email, include:
- Member name.
- Email address of the member registered at Surfguard.
- Desired role (General Member, Patrol Captain, Patrol Member, Cadet).
- If you’re a Cadet, sign the cadet key fob activation agreement.
- The administrator will respond within 7 days with instructions on how to collect your key fob.
Returning a fob
- Mail the fob to the club PO box; OR
- Deliver the fob in-hands to a fob administrator (contact them via fob@kiamaslsc.com.au).
Lost fob procedure
- Immediately notify the club via an email to fob@kiamaslsc.com.au.
- Include the identification number of the key fob.
- If you don’t know the number, include the email address against which the fob is registered.
- If the email address has multiple fobs associated with it, include the identification number for the fobs that you do have in your possession.
- A fob administrator will deactivate the fob.
- A replacement fob can be ordered by paying a $45 replacement fee.
- Go to https://members.sls.com.au/members/pay.
- Select Kiama SLSC as the organization.
- For “Transaction type”, select “Club key”.
- Enter $45 as the amount.
- Follow the usual fob request process, including a screenshot of your payment receipt.
